Mazda Dealer Newport News VA

Newport News boasts an impressive amount of attractions and landmarks for all types of audiences. Anyone in the area should check out the art exhibits at the popular Peninsula Fine Arts Center at 101 Museum Drive. Pieces rotate throughout the year to ensure that visitors get a fresh experience no matter when they visit. Beyond the professional pieces intended for those who have a sophisticated approach to art, there is also a “Hands on For Kids” gallery that is available year round. This is perfect for families with young children who want to interact with art instead of passively stare at it.

Other local art offerings include the Port Warwick Art and Sculpture Festival with a beautiful selection of pieces from local art vendors. The festival is held in Styron Square.  It features a contest where judges decide on the best piece of the festival. Or, check out the Ferguson Center for the Arts. This is a combination of a concert hall and a theater.  It is located on the Christopher Newport University campus. Performances are given in its Concert Hall, its Music and Theater Hall and there is also a Studio Theater for showings.

Be sure to check out the U.S. Army Transportation Museum at 300 Washington Boulevard. It is home to vehicles of the United States army including memorabilia and other military equipment. The museum encapsulates the history of the Army with a special focus on the United States Army Transportation Corps. Anyone interested in U.S. military history will enjoy spending an afternoon at this site as it offers plenty of details about conflicts from the American Revolutionary War all the way up to the intervention in Afghanistan. History buffs will also enjoy the C&O railroad station, local civil war sites near Lee Hall and U.S. Route 60's 19th century style plantations. They should also spend some time checking out the 30,000 plus artifacts at the Mariners' Museum. These include boat engines, antiques, figureheads and much more.
