The Great American Food Fest will take place October 1 at Chesapeake City Park. Patrons will enjoy a live performance by Tailgate Down while they select from such delicious foods as BBQ pork and chicken, fried fish, clam chowder with side dishes of hush puppies and corn on the cob. The food fest will be held from 3 to 7:00 PM with advance tickets costing $30.00 and $40.00 on the day of the event. Proceeds from the Great American Food Fest will benefit the Chesapeake sheriff's office fund for elderly and indigent victim’s assistance program.
Celebrate the rich culture of the Virginia coastal region at the Waterways Heritage Festival. This free event will take place October 11 and 12, 2014 at Great Lock Park. Visitors can enjoy live music as they stroll among the many exhibits of crafts such as woodworking, quilting, pottery and basket weaving. There will be kayak tours and the US Coast Guard will do presentations on water safety.
