Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a truly inspiring time of the year. Since its inception in 1985, this annual campaign has been a successful way to increase awareness of the disease. While the past few decades have shown major strides towards the cause, there is still a long way to go!

In addition to our efforts throughout the year, this October Cavalier Auto Group will step up our efforts to help the cause. Some of those efforts include the following:

  • Cavalier Ford Lincoln Sponsored the Bra-Ha-Ha. Bra-Ha-Ha is an organization helping to raise money to provide free mammograms to members of our community that cannot afford the test without help. A special thanks to our Cavalier Ford Chesapeake team for all their time and efforts to make a fantastic bra for the event.

    Check out our Bra-Ha-Ha entry!

  • Each of our Cavalier dealerships have joined the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. We have over 30 team members walking and our fundraising is underway. If you’d like to join our team or make a donation simply click on the link below to get started - your support would be greatly appreciated!
  • Cavalier Lincoln is hosting the Driven to Give event at 1515 South Military Highway on October 4th. For every test drive a $50 donation will be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Please come out and take a test drive, this is a fundraising event and not a sales event – absolutely no sales pressure J Please help us reach our goal of $10,000!
  • Our Maryland dealerships, Century Ford of Mt. Airy & Century Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram are supporting "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer".

Why it's Important:
The time and money donating to these causes does a great deal to enhancing research that better prevents, detects, and treats the disease. In the United States 1 in every 8 women will be diagnosed with Breast Cancer in their lifetime. This makes it the most commonly diagnosed disease in women, and the second leading cause in female death in this country.

The good news is that with continued participation huge strides are being made to end the disease. Since 1990 the death rates have been declining. This is due to better screening for early detection, overall increased awareness, and improving treatment options. And all this is made possible from contributions to foundations like the ones listed above!
