Must Haves for your Beach Day Trip

You can enjoy an exciting day with gorgeous beaches and a fun-filled boardwalk with restaurants, shops and amusement rides for the kids. If you're planning a trip to the beach, you'll want to take important items for a more enjoyable day.

Sun Protection

Even on cloudy, cool beach days sunburn is a real possibility without proper protection. A fun day at the beach can be ruined by painful sunburn that can lasts for days.

• Umbrella – provide shade for the family with a beach umbrella or tent. There are some great products on the market like the stylish Sombrilla or Sport-Brella XL. They are lightweight, easy to carry, quick to install, and you can easily adjust or move them as the sun moves.
   
• Sunscreen – an adequate sunscreen product is a necessity, especially for the kids. For best protection, look for a sunscreen that's waterproof with a minimum SPF 15 protection. Zinc oxide works great for delicate areas like the nose, shoulders and feet.
   
• Sun Hat – protect your face from painful sunburn with a hat. Look for a floppy beach hat or a baseball cap with a wide brim to shade your face and neck.
   
• Sunglasses – provide UV and wind protection for your eyes with the proper sunglasses. On a nice sunny day, the glare from sand and water reflections can be blinding, resulting in eye damage and headaches.
   
• Swimsuit Cover-up – after an active day in the sun and wind, you'll need a swimsuit cover-up for comfort. It can be a fashionable cover-up that enhances your swimsuit or a simple tee shirt, just make sure it's long enough to cover your entire trunk area.

Food and Drinks

It's important to stay hydrated and energized at the beach, so you'll need to provide food and drinks for the day. Include water, favorite drinks, lunch, and energizing snacks.

• Flip-Flops – flip-flops are a lifesaver for your feet in hot sand. Just a short walk from the beach to the car can result in discomfort and even burns to your feet.
